Case Study: My Insurance Firm Won't Pay Out

When 88-year-old John Rodger’s house burned down while he was away on holiday he was left in a severe state of shock.

He returned home to find the building had been razed to the ground and that nearly all of his possessions had been turned to ash.

Mr Rodger dug out his insurance policy and contacted Hastings Direct to start the process of making a claim.

There was a slight delay but the insurance company seemed to be back on track when they sent out fire investigators.

However, it soon became clear that Hastings Direct wasn’t going to be willing to pay out for his claim.
